It Begins

A student sent an email, one long sentence with no capitalization or punctuation, asking what letters to the editor in a newspaper are and how to find them.

Ahh, yes, the joy of Instant Messager-speak. Whilst it is annoying in an e-mail, it is REALLY annoying when it appears in a paper. "I thnk w/ all my head b/c phil. is hard." When I run across this, I am thankful that some benificent deity like item invented the grade F! I guess one does not have that option when such silliness comes in the form of an e-mail. Might you be able to use this e-mail to help you 'compute' the class participation grade?
